Turtle and Crocodile Watching Tour$45/pp/with guide

With our lodge guides, guests can take late afternoon and night tours of Carate beach looking for nesting turtles laying their eggs. At times, hatchlings may be seen emerging from the sand and heading for the sea. Turtle watching is seasonal and their arrival times depend on the particular species. Crocodiles can also be observed in the lagoon, with special guided tours at night by boat. Please check with our staff for more details.

Bird Watching$50/pp with guide

With a naturalist guide, you can walk our lagoon and rainforest trails or go to Rio Carate on an early morning birding hike. Due to the special nature of LagunaVista, three distinct types of bird (marine, aquatic and rainforest) may be observed in close proximity. Parrots, including the popular scarlet macaws, toucans and vultures, humming birds and hawks regularly visit our property. Wading birds such as the roseate spoonbill also frequent the lagoon, while frigate birds and pelicans are common sightings. Rainforest varieties are too numerous to list, with most observed daily from our villa decks.
